Remember that Glock-customization market that you were making of fun of a year or two ago? Yeah, it’s continuing to grow. Admittedly it’s sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. I mean really, who needs to skeletonize the ENTIRE frame on a Glock?

Skeletonize Everything

But for the better, you have companies like Grey Ghost Precision that took a step back and said, “OK, there is opportunity here, but it needs to be done right.” They put their minds to working on solutions they thought could fill market gaps and retain the GGP quality standards.

Last year around this time, I got a sneak peek at some prototypes of the Glock 17 and 19 slides they were releasing later in the year. Received warmly by the Gunterverse, these high quality slides had tighter tolerances than factory parts, were pre-milled in the RMR versions, and just kinda looked cool.

Grey Ghost Precision Glock 19 Slide

Just about a month ago in late 2017, as they hit their stride in this market, Grey Ghost followed up with the first aftermarket slide for the Glock 43, the SPG43.

Similar to their larger-framed predecessors, the SPG43 is offered in several versions imbued with what I call “functional aesthetics.” On first glance, the SPG43 seems to be a great (and as of this writing) ONLY option for you workshop-tweakers that want to squeeze as much performance as you can out of your pocket gun. I’m looking forward to getting the chance to compare the SPG43 to the factory slide and see if it holds true to the claim of improved accuracy.

With V1 and V2 versions available for an MSRP of $349 on the GGP website, you can save a few bucks and head over to Ranier Arms who is launching them exclusively in their store.
